pdf Paginate App Reviews

8 Customer Reviews:

This application does what it says - adds page numbers. I only rated it a 3 because it doesn’t let you determine the location on the page where the numbers are placed, nor the font/size. Also, it doesn’t behave well if you alter the before/after text (the space for which is very limited) and then try to number the document again. It also has issues when attempt to open a second/subsequent document, but it works well if the first time after I launch it.

After being run around the mill by several pdf support programs, I fell upon PDF Paginate and it works perfectly. Not only is a great program, the support from the developer was wonderful. Francis spent significant time with me through a series of emails, walking me through my ineptitude in using the program. It was all so obvious (it really is easy to use), I just got flummoxed, but help was there. I’m not one to bother with reviews online, but the kind assistance and reliability of pdf paginate compelled me to take the time and recommend it to others.

All I needed was the ability to add page numbers to a bunch of PDF preview files. I wish I had just looked here first and not spent an hour looking at different shenanigans on the internets.

Perfect! All I wanted to do was add page numbers in sequence to the bottom of a PDF. The document was a composite from a bunch of different sources, so I couldn’t do that individually in each source. I trolled the internet for an hour or two and even went into the Apple store without finding a way to do this simple task. Paginate does this! Just open the PDF in paginate and it’ll populate each page with the page number. Easy. Such a simple thing to do, wish I found Paginate earlier.

Nice program for a very specific task - number stamping pdf pages. No instructions, but not hard to figure out. It correctly inserts a text box on each page, as shown. However: the placement of the text box on each page is below the “safe print” margin on the bottom - it is placed less than .25”. For $3.00 and not having to use Adobe, it would be good enough. But there is no option to reduce font size or choose a different one. As it is, lower descenders in the text can be cut-off in the printer. It should be a simple fix in an update.

This works as stated. The downside: you cannot control font, size or placement of the page number, and it chooses a particularly ugly position for the number — very close to the bottom edge, with very little margin. It makes the document look sloppy and unprofessional.

I had some trouble using the program, so I emailed its creator for assistance. Francis was very responsive to my emails and worked with me until I was able to get the application to work for me. The app does just what it promises - it adds page numbers to pdf documents using preview. The numbers appear in the bottom right corner. You can tailor it so there are letters or numbers before or after the page number.
